GodTube Music Presents: ‘All About You’ Passion Live Performance

Jesus Christ, as one song mentions, should be the focus and at the center of everything we do.

It’s easy to become distracted, get off track and have focus become blurred while concentrating on something temporal that holds no real significance once so ever. Life is full of responsibilities and obligations that can cause our attention to become centered on the immediate, much less relevant things in this world.

However, the song “All About You” by Passion reminds us that Jesus Christ should be and remain at the center of our lives. In everything we do, Christ should be the focus of that activity or event.

In the song’s opening verse, the musicians reorient their focus. The musicians state they are “clearing off the surface” and “getting back to basics.” They remind themselves that Christ is the reason for their singing, worshiping and praising Him is the reason why they are even on that stage.

The song’s simple yet effective chorus reiterates the musicians’ point and purpose for their track.

“It’s all about You, It’s all about You
Always has been, always will be
All about You”

The song’s third verse adds that this changing and shifting of focus, as it often does, means a difference in priorities. It’s forcing the musicians and, likely, all who hear the song to consider what is truly important to them.

The lyrics also state that all the miracles and every revival that may occur are about Christ and for the benefit and growth of His kingdom. In the end, that is what truly matters. Everything else, while it may seem important now, is insignificant and only temporary.

What an excellent and terrific reminder not to get caught up and entrenched in the tiny, mundane details of everyday living. Instead, our priority and focus ought to remain on Christ. Colossians 3:2 “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”

NFN Music Review – PASSION : I’ve Witnessed It – Live.   (sixsteps/Sparrow Records)

sixstepsrecords / Capitol CMG’s Passion presents their newest offering, recorded live at Passion 2023. The press release reads; The 14-track album showcases powerful worship moments captured at the annual Passion conference, which was held in two locations with more than 30,000 students in attendance across the two events over the New Year holiday. Well, the music certainly gets off to a good start with Kristian Stanfill and Landon Wolfe leading the powerful songs “All About You” and “Who is Like the Lord” respectively. The uptempo feel continues with Melodie Malone taking the lead vocals on the title track of the album. So far, all three songs take the form of many, many, other mega-church releases. There’s a big production, but the myriad instruments used, sometimes fight to be heard individually. The first change comes with the glorious ‘Here It Is.’ The song is quite majestic in the way it flows, and it made its mark on me, immediately. Brandon Lake, Rachel Halbah, plus many other artists lead songs that follow the contemporary worship theme. ‘Another Glimpse’ starts well, but deteriorates into a musical mush of sound, halfway through. Crowder returns the quality of the songs with ‘King,’ while Cody Carnes belts out the anthemic ‘Good (Can’t Be Anything Else.’ As these type of albums go, this one is on a par with releases from people like Bethel, Hillsong, and the like. Maybe I’m getting to be a grumpy old reviewer, but so many songs sound alike. 7/10.

NFN Music Review – KRISTIAN STANFILL : Make It Out Alive . (Capitol CMG)

Looking a little into Kristians story, I find he went through difficult personal times in the past few years, and this recording comes as he was starting to recover and discovered a deeper meaning for his life. His website says “Somewhere along the way, I started writing songs. I wasn’t writing for a record. I wrote for survival. I wrote to heal. I needed to process the moment. At some point I started to think maybe these songs could help someone else find hope at a low point”. I got half way through the title track before pausing and finding out more about Kristian and the background for the recording, as I’d been been challenged within moments of the previous song ‘Show Me Who You Really Are.’ It didn’t feel as this was going to be yet another album by someone who just releases regularly to continue their career. The title of the CD reminded me of Pilgrims Progress and, if I can use After The Fire’s Pilgrim lyrics which paraphrases the book, “Through the “Valley of Humiliation” Was there I fought for my life with the one that I used to serve, Then the “Valley of the Shadow of Death” it hung over me. I never thought that I’d see the light of day again”. But, I digress! Back to the album. Musically, it’s very comfortable pop, I guess, with guitar and keyboard leading the way. There are good arrangements, and the songs have a very uplifting feel, as his message clings onto you mind and heads for your heart. The music builds gently and before you realise it starts to be anthemic. I like the simplicity of ‘We Need People.’ Maybe there’s too much reverb in places but as I look past that, again, his message is so true, we need people! It’s a beautiful song, and followed by another called ‘Grace.’ Here, we have nice musical pads over the acoustic sounds, plus well composed percussion enhance the message. I found it nice to hear Kristian’s version of Keith Green’s ‘My Eyes Are Dry.’ Simply done, with just guitar and vocals. It’s  rather special and fits in well with the overall CD. Overall I enjoyed this album. There’s nothing loud, no guitar solos, just gentle songs which flow from his heart and experiences of a life growing closer to his maker. The final track ‘Change You’ plots his life, family, relationships. Looking back to look forward.  10/10 Noel Donaldson.

New Album from Kristian Stanfill Released Friday 11th November!

sixtstepsrecords/Capitol CMG artist KRISTIAN STANFILL releases his latest solo music. His new album, Make It Out Alive, drops, today, November 11. Two early tracks—“We Need People” and “Another Praise”—are available across all DSPs now along with a live performance video of “We Need People.”

The eleven songs on Make It Out Alive are his most personal offering to date. Written at a time of reckoning in his life, these songs were born out of Stanfill’s own need for survival. Along the way, it became clear that these songs could help someone else find hope at their lowest moment and to let them know that they are not alone.

“These songs are about the power of vulnerability, our need for connection, and the miracle of grace,” Kristian Stanfill further explains. “Make It Out Alive isn’t just my story…it’s our story of freedom. I’m truly so excited for you all to hear these songs.”

Centricity Worship, a division of Centricity Publishing, releases its debut EP, Centricity Worship And Friends, today (May 13) to digital and streaming outlets everywhere via https://fanlink.to/cwfriends. All of the songs were composed at Centricity Worship writing retreats where many well-known artists and songwriters from various record labels and publishing companies gathered to create music for the Church to sing.

Produced by Patrick Mayberry, the collaborative tracks on Centricity Worship And Friends include the Heath Balltzglier and Seth Condrey-led “No Other King.” Written by Mayberry, Chris Renzema and recent GRAMMY Award-winner Mitch Wong, the song was originally released on the current North Point Worship live album Our God Will See Us Through.

“King Jesus continues to defy our expectations,” says Wong. “We wrote this song about the mystery of who Jesus is; the humility, the kindness, the compassion that we wouldn’t first come to expect from royalty. No other king has loved as deeply, served so humbly, or triumphed as unequivocally as our King. We hope that this song will bring you back into wide-eyed wonder of Jesus.”

Jesus, no one is like You

Jesus, no one beside You

Of this I am convinced

No greater love exists

Forevermore my hope is in no other King

(From the “No Other King” chorus)

“The Centricity Worship And Friends EP is a beautiful collection of worship songs for the Church, filled with biblical truth and singable melodies,” remarks Mayberry, who not only produced the EP, but also co-wrote and is featured on some of the tracks.

Centricity Worship was created as a platform for song discovery with the goal of equipping the global Church with new and powerful worship songs. It’s foundation dates back to a series of songwriter retreats which birthed songs like Lauren Daigle’s “Come Alive (Dry Bones)” and Corey Voss’s “Nothing But The Blood.” These retreats have since become a part of Centricity Worship’s DNA.

“Centricity Publishing has been doing these worship retreats for years, and out of them have come some really powerful songs that have gone on to inspire worshipers around the world,” says Chad Segura,Vice President, Centricity Publishing. “Along with our own team of writers, we always like to invite other talented songwriters from around the industry as well. We love getting to do this with our friends. And in recording some of the favorite tunes from the resulting collaborations, our hope is that people will discover and connect with these songs, incorporating them into both their personal and corporate worship settings.”
