UCB Leaders Day Invitation.

During our monthly Leaders Days held here at UCB, we have for several years welcomed Church, community and business leaders to take time out of the busyness of life and come together in fellowship. We have been led in worship by some greatly anointed worship leaders from around the UK, and been edified and inspired by some great national and international keynote speakers, as well as connecting with other leaders over lunch.

We would like to invite you to the next UCB Leaders Day on Thursday 17th July, at the UCB Operations Centre in Burslem, Stoke on Trent.

On the day

We will be welcoming Doug Williams as our speaker, at the UCB Operations Centre, Burslem, Stoke on Trent, ST6 4JF. The day will start with tea and coffee from 10.30am, for an 11am start. We will begin with a time of praise and worship, followed by a short update on UCB. The ministry of the Word will be led by Doug Williams, followed by a buffet lunch.

The event, including lunch, is free of charge, but a retiring offering will be taken up for our guest speaker.

To register

If you would like to join us on the day, please confirm your attendance by emailing leadersdays@ucb.co.uk , stating the name of each person attending, the ministry, church or organisation they represent, their email address and where applicable, any special dietary requirements.

Previous Leaders Days have been very popular and we are limited as to how many people we can accommodate, so please respond promptly to book your place and avoid disappointment.

London Worship Leader Releases Encouraging EP.

Chris Stewart

Chris Stewart is the Worship Pastor of 3 churches in the City of London. St Sepulchres a new HTB plant, St Margaret’s Lotbury and St Mary’s Woolnoth. He has just finished recording ‘Square One’ an EP, which was produced by Henry Marsden. The launch party is on the 27th of June and will be held at St Sepulchres Church by St Pauls tube station, beginning at 7pm. Admission is free but donations to the cost of refreshments would be appreciated. Chris says; “We want this EP to reflect what God is doing in the city but we want it also to be an encouragement to those outside the city and also be an evangelistic tool for those who don’t know Jesus.” The EP was produced on a shoestring budget but despite that, he goes on to say; “I want to be writing songs every year that speaks into what God is doing in people’s individual lives here. So will hopefully have more of a budget next for next year.” www.stsepulchres.org and www.chrisstewartworship.org

Top Gospel Artists Unite to Raise Awareness of the Persecuted Church

Live Issue

The past number of weeks has seen much controversy and debate over religion. At the same time the ability and freedom to have such discussions is something we should never take for granted and is denied to many throughout the world. Following the recent high profile case of Mariam Ibrahim, who was sentenced to death in Sudan for becoming a Christian, and other similar injustices highlighted on social media sites, many of Northern Ireland’s top Gospel singers have decided to come together to hold a special concert to raise awareness and practical funds for Christians who are currently suffering persecution in many different countries.

The concert which is to be held in the main function room of the Seagoe Hotel in Portadown on Saturday 28th June will feature many of the country’s best known and respected Gospel artists. The concert will run from 7.30-10.30pm and will include;

Revelation, Live Issue, Paul Silcock, Pathway, Justified, Simple Faith, Victoria Salt, Kathryn Mitchell, Kingdom Bound and The Calderwood Sisters.

Northern Ireland is now being recognised as the main centre for Gospel Music in Europe, with many of our local artist now regulars at the major Gospel Music events throughout the British Isles, Europe and the United States. For the first time the artists taking part in this concert have issued a joint statement which reads;

“As Christian artists we recognise how fortunate we are in Northern Ireland to be able enjoy the freedom of sharing our ministry and faith without threat or hindrance. Recent high profile cases such as that of Mariam Ibrahim only serve to highlight the plight of brothers and sisters in Christ who are being imprisoned, tortured and murdered for their Christian faith. We feel it is our responsibility to highlight these severe injustices and the persecution that is taking place against Christians throughout the world today. Our involvement in “The Concert for the Persecuted Church” will hopefully help raise awareness and funds for much needed practical support for Christians who constantly live under threat and persecution.”

There are no tickets or an admission charge to attend the concert in the Seagoe Hotel and all the artists are giving freely of their time and talents to support this cause. There will however be a donation collected during the concert and all proceeds will be going to Open Doors Worldwide which supports those who are suffering throughout the world because of their Christian Faith.

More details of this special one-off concert can be found on Facebook by searching “Concert for the Persecuted Church.”

New Release from Stuart Townend.

Paths of Grace

Integrity Music is pleased to announce the release of The Paths of Grace – the ninth studio album from STUART TOWNEND. From the writer of ‘In Christ Alone’ and ‘How Deep The Father’s Love’ comes yet another album full of songs that offer worshippers a wealth of profound lyrics and impeccable musicianship.

Long regarded as one of the most gifted songwriters of his day, Stuart Townend’s songs of substance draw their strength from the collision of word and worship. The Paths of Grace has plenty to inspire worshippers across the generations: from the lush arrangements of An Altar of Remembrance (co-written with Gary Sadler) and Singing Hallelujah (featuring Sam Cox) to the powerfully raw approach of Good Shepherd of My Soul (co-written with Keith and Kristyn Getty and Fionan de Barra and featuring Ruth Notman) and The Lord’s Prayer (also co-written with Keith Getty and again featuring the exceptionally talented Ruth Notman). The album’s first Radio Song – Promise Of The Ages (co-written with Ed Cash and Keith Getty) starts the album off with a welcome return to the folk style that drove so much of Stuart’s last album, The Journey – nodding at the likes of Van Morrison, Alison Krauss and other such greats.

Christmas Comes Early for Carolyn Arends.

Carolyn Arends

Dove Award-winning singer/songwriter and author CAROLYN ARENDS is partnering with her fans to produce the Canadian recording artist’s 11th album, a Christmas CD titled Christmas: Story of Stories. Through the innovative crowd-funding program Kickstarter, fan donations met the initial $11,000 goal in one day. With 22 days left until the deadline, additional funds will help Arends reach her stretch goals. “We are beyond grateful to have reached our initial funding goal of $11,000 in one day,” Arends says. “At this point, we’re at a position where the CD can be made, but additional funding will allow us to do so much more with respect to both recording and promoting the music. So we’ll be continuing the Kickstarter campaign for a few more weeks. Because of the Kickstarter partnership, this is the first project I’ve recorded for which my fans and supporters are literally the record company. I’ve been hearing from friends and fans all over the world and it’s filled me with gratitude for the gifts God has given us in music, creativity and community.” Christmas: Story of Stories is set for an October 15 release.

Update from UK Singer Songwriter, Gareth Davies-Jones.

Gareth Davies Jones

UK Singer-songwriter, GARETH DAVIES-JONES recently wrote; “When I started this musical adventure back in 2004 I thought I might get a year or so to write and record before getting back to the mainstream world of work. As it turns out here I am celebrating ten years as a professional singer-songwriter. So far there’s been six solo albums, two collaborative albums and a raft of tours and projects. I’ve been privileged to have the music take me to some magnificent places, meet some amazing people and work with some inspiring organisations. I’m incredibly grateful for all of it and especially to you for walking with me by purchasing the music, hosting and attending the concerts and encouraging the creativity. Hopefully there’s much more to come.” www.garethdavies-jones.com
