A Little Help for a Philippa Hanna

Philippa Hanna

If you hadn’t heard already, I’m really pleased to let you know that I have been invited to tour Europe supporting the chart topping pop quartette, Little Mix! The tour will see me supporting the band at 15 of the most prestigious venues in Europe. Nearly all of the shows are sold-out and I’ll be performing to over 50,000 people. I feel that this is most significant opportunity of my career to date and an unparalleled opportunity to share message of hope with a young audience.

You can buy music, merchandise, clothing, jewellery and even book an acoustic gig. My campaign closes on Friday 10th June so please do get involved if you can! Just head over to

The Review Zone – Philippa Hanna : Speed of Light @Philippahanna

Philippa Hanna 2PHILIPPA HANNA : Speed of Light.   (Resound Media)

So, after her recent tour supporting mega star, Leona Lewis. Philippa returns with her 4th album release. And, unlike her last two recordings, she returns to a more pop style, which I liken to Ellie Goulding and Pixie Lott. “Let Me Lead” is a strong opening song, that shows a lot more maturity in production than her 2009 release, “Taste.” Philippa’s voice really sounds at home with all the songs and on “Perfectly” she gets the hook just right as she leads into a great chorus. The two recent single releases “Arrow” and the title track are both bouncy, happy numbers, with modern, sequenced assembly. Meanwhile, on “Something Better”, a simple piano lends itself as the main instrument on backing. “Even Now” and “It is Well” set the focus on keeping God at the centre of your life, no matter what troubles you may be going through, with messages of trust and love. As for the closing “Run To You”, I think that this song is perfect chart material and stands shoulder to shoulder with anything Philippa’s contemporaries have done recently. As she moves out to Nashville in the near future, it will be interesting to see how her music progresses. As for this release, it’s one, tasty, pop, album.   9/10.

Exciting New Release for Philippa Hanna

Philippa Hanna 2

April 29th sees the release of Philippa Hanna’s 5th studio project Speed of Light. Fresh from her tour opening for Leona Lewis, the Barnsley-born singer has her sights set on breaking the US market as she moves out to Nashville this summer.

The production blends the pop and electronic sound of Taylor Swift and CHVRCHES, swerving away from the previous country releases. After lead single Even Now topped the iTunes Christian & Gospel chart, expectation has built up with 2nd single Arrow getting well earned spins by Richard Madeley on BBC Radio 2 and on The Mark Forrest Show. The project was recorded in Nashville with producer Kyle Lee and features a duet with Kevin Max, one third of the multi-million selling act DC Talk.

The album was funded in part by Philippa’s fans through Rocket Fuel, a crowdfunding site she helped to launch in 2014, whilst her trips to Nashville have been aided by support from BPI and UK Trade & Investment through the Music For Export Growth Scheme.

Philippa will be performing live and speaking to Clare Balding on Sunday 24th of April on BBC Radio 2.

Philippa Hanna Needs Your Support!

Philippa Hanna Through the Woods

Winner of ‘Female Vocal Artiste of the Year’ at the 2014 Gospel Touch Awards, PHILIPPA HANNA is one of the UK’s leading Christian songwriters. In addition to hundreds of solo dates, she has also toured alongside Lionel Richie (2012), Wet Wet Wet (2013) Stuart Townend (2013) and Rebecca Fergusson (2014). THE NEXT STAGE OF THE JOURNEY…

Another amazing opportunity has opened up for Philippa – she has been invited to join Collabro and Lucy Kay on the Britain’s Got Talent Winners’ Tour. Covering 31 UK dates from January 2015, this marks an unprecedented opportunity to take the message of God’s love to a whole new audience. However to make this mission happen, Philippa needs a little help from her friends! The costs of taking a team on the road for over two months stack up very quickly, with funding needed for travel, accommodation, equipment and promotion. As an independent artist Philippa has no major label providing financial backing:

She has instead launched a campaign on the innovative Rocket Fuel platform. SO WHAT IS ROCKET FUEL..? Rocket Fuel is a brand-new funding platform that allows fans to help the independent musicians they love reach their goals. It takes conventional crowd-funding several steps further, allowing supporters to become part of the artist’s journey whilst providing ongoing financial support. As the platform’s flagship act, Philippa Hanna is beginning her campaign by raising funds to make the Collabro tour possible. Her supporters can help either by purchasing one-off items, or by contributing regular monthly amounts. Regular supporters can also receive exclusive rewards, discounts, VIP access at gigs and will be the first to hear new material from Philippa. In order to be able to make the tour with Collabro happen, the fundraising total needs to be reached by December 1st 2014. Those eager to support Philippa on her mission can head over to

Book Review – Philippa Hanna : Following the Breadcrumbs @Philippahanna

Following the BreadcrumbsPHILIPPA HANNA : Following the Breadcrumbs.   (Authentic : ISBN978-1-78078-087-0)

Well, not only does this young lady have the accolade of our Album of the Month, she has also put pen to paper and has published this blog style book! Basically, it’s Philippa’s testimony on how she struggled with so many things in life, until God came into her life. Through the people she met and the little coincidences that kept popping up, she gradually came to find her Saviour. As, I say, the book is written blog style. That is, there’s no long chapters, just short, sharp stories that will inspire you, make you laugh, and make you cry. Philippa doesn’t hold back. She bares her soul  and tells you plain and simply how God changed her. Of course, there are still struggles and challenges, but Philippa comes out fighting, with God on her side. From visiting the poor of Haiti, to vocal coaching X factor style in Hong Kong, I found the book an engaging read, and highly recommend it to people young and old.
