The Steels write:
“In the year 2000, as a bunch of eager teenagers, we decided it might be fun to start a band. We never dreamt that The Steels would become such a big part of our lives and take us on a journey we will never forget. Over the years we have played almost 500 events throughout the UK, Europe, and as far as America and China; we have produced 4 albums, and worked for justice alongside International China Concern. We thank God for every twist and turn and pray our music and message has made a positive impact on people’s lives.
It now feels like the right time to step down and we are all excited about starting a new chapter in each of our lives. We would like to thank everyone who has supported and worked with us over the years. There are far too many to mention individually but we would never have come so far without you.
Over the next few months we hope to celebrate more than a decade of The Steels by sharing some of our favourite memories with you. We hope these highlights will make you laugh and smile, two things we spent most of our time doing!
However, we’re not finished just yet… We still have some fantastic shows planned over the next six months and we are taking further bookings. We would love to see you all one last time.”
If you would like to bring The Steels to your town or city one last time, then please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
As they draw closer to the release of their second live album – ‘Let It Be Known’ – WORSHIP CENTRAL have something to say. They want to talk about something that happened a couple of years ago: “We decided to collaborate much more with our songwriting, spending more time writing together,” explains Tim Hughes. “These songs are the fruit of that passion.”
These are not the words of someone interested in selling franchises. These are the words of someone who appreciates the value of team, of time well spent and of the need for church to be far service-oriented not performance-driven. And you can hear all that in the songs as well, from the intercession of The Constant, the rawest cries of Hallelujah to the outward-focus of the title track. Recorded live in London last autumn, Let It Be Known is not just the result of a growing UK team, but comes after a period of significant international growth. There are now Worship Central hubs in Honk Kong, the Netherlands, Singapore, Malaysia and South Africa – each of them devoted to empowering, equipping and releasing others to strengthen their own church’s worship life.
