New Releases from Integrity Music

Introducing “The Lord, Our God” by REVERE. Born from a unique collaboration of four writers representing six different countries during a songwriting camp in Stockholm, Sweden, this song is a testament to the universality of worship and the power of music to bring people together. Unlike many contemporary worship songs that focus on what God does for us or our personal acts of worship, The Lord, Our God centers solely on Jesus. It’s not about what we bring to the table, but about who He is – The Lord, OUR God. This isn’t a song of possession, but a song of declaration. It’s a proclamation that God isn’t limited to one nation or one people but belongs to all. In a time where unity seems more crucial than ever, this song resonates deeply with REVERE. Their aspiration is to remind the Church that God isn’t ‘my God’ or ‘your God’, but ‘our God’. They hope that this song serves as a rallying cry for unity, urging us to come together in worship of Jesus. REVERE shares, “When we wrote it we shared it the following night at a worship night in Sweden and it was shocking how quickly people started singing. It was like they already knew it and the old historic cathedral full of people began belting out the words of this song as though it has been born into their DNA.”

Enter the overwhelming presence of God through New Life Worship’s newest single Amen Hallelujah. What began as a guitar riff and hours of pouring over scripture, is now a song about the return of our conquering God. This powerful song takes listeners through Revelation 19 and the future God has written in His word. The continual build throughout the song and repetition of “He Reigns Forever” illuminates God’s victory and glory. It leads listeners to expand their imaginations towards the realities and wonders of God.

Vineyard Worship unveils its latest musical offering, “No One Like You,” a poignant and yet simple song of praise written during the ‘Come Holy Spirit’ national worship gathering in London. Crafted by songwriters Jon Solway (Birmingham Vineyard, UK), Anabeth Morgan (Mile High Vineyard, USA), and Rich DiCas (KXC, London), this heartfelt and intimate song centers on the unparalleled person of Jesus. Jon reflects; “This song initially came from the secret place. I was spending time in prayer and as my heart was just overcome with the holiness, perfection and wonder of Jesus, the only thing that my heart desired to say was ‘Jesus, there is no one like you’. They seemed to be the only words that were appropriate in that moment. I then took that simple chorus to Anabeth and Rich. Collectively, we were keen to take inspiration from simple statements from both scripture and the ancient creeds of the Church, about the character and actions of Jesus. Rich adds; “We wanted to write verses where every line was singularly about the unique person of Jesus.” The recording features the renowned voice of Samuel Lane (Rock and Redeemer Vineyard, UK), known for his impactful songs like ‘Saved,’ ‘Look To Jesus,’ and ‘Beautiful’.

Former Jars of Clay and platinum selling artist, Charlie Lowell, joins Integrity’s Hosanna Music in Still Worship’s new album Lullaby. This album is filled with instrumental covers of well-known worship songs. The soothing music is perfect for naps and bedtime routines for any age, but especially caters to babies and toddlers. “Do It Again” encompasses the overall sound Still Worship strives to embody in this album. Younger listeners enjoy tunes familiar to their parents, creating a beautiful way of worshiping together.

The artist’s passion is to create a safe and prayerful space through her music in which people can encounter the heart of God in a profound way. The kindness, love and conversations shared through the whole process intertwined the experience of unity and vulnerability at the centre of this project. The album explores our self-awareness and relationship with God. It’s about understanding what leads us to the darkness and accepting the vulnerability of standing in the Light, where we get exposed and purified. With singles ‘Standing In Your Light’, ‘Belovedness’, ‘Monument’, ‘A Thousand Thank Yous’ and ‘Unbroken Family’, Sarah Kroger introduces a soundscape that mixes honesty with courage, pointing to the album’s encouragement of continually staying in relationship with the Lord. RESISTANCE release 4th single ‘À Lui Seul Soit La Gloire’ ft. Yann Kato. This song is a testimony to the greatness of our Almighty God inspired by Romans 11:34-35, “Who has known the mind of the Lord?Or who has been his counsellor?” Who has ever given to God,that God should repay them? For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.” We can often give credit to a coincidence, our efforts, or our own strength when in reality all things flow from the grace of God. ‘À Lui Seul Soit La Gloire’ (To Him Alone Be All Glory) is an invitation to reconsider the goodness of God and to give Him the glory He is due. Sandra McCracken releases new anthem of peace and unity ‘I Am One’ featuring Citizens. Written with Zach Bolen and Stu G, this song was born out of a conversation of what it means to have union with Christ and membership with one another. Jesus prayed for us in John 17 “Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one.” While our circumstances may be shaken up through the pandemic and pronounced political and social divisions, this song is a call to unity, with God and one another. The humble reality that we are more alike than we are different can be the beginning of redemptive conversations.

The Review Zone – Samuel Lane : The Fire @SamuelLane

Samuel Lane The FireSAMUEL LANE : The Fire.  (Elevation ELE1889D)

This twelve track CD comes only one Elevation catalogue number after the ‘Worship Anthems’ release I reviewed last month, but what a contrast in terms of musical content! The Fire is the first solo worship album from Samuel Lane, who is based at St Alban’s Vineyard Church. Recorded in LA and accompanied by some of the best musicians in the industry, this really is an excellent debut by an artist who is surely going to be ‘one to watch’ – and the sound quality is good as well! When first listening to a review album I commonly write down ‘key words’ that come to mind. In this case I wrote ‘genuine’, ‘credible’, honest’, ‘original’, personal’, ‘worshipful’. The arrangements are contemporary ‘singer-songwriter’ and tend to begin simply and develop slowly, with most of the tracks slow to medium paced – the ‘rockiest’ probably being the excellent ‘You are with us’. I would imagine that fans of Ray Lamontagne will find much to enjoy in Samuel’s voice and presentation (including sudden quiet words at the end of a phrase – check out track 4 ‘The Father’ for instance), and I occasionally heard touches of Peter Gabriel. Lyrically there is little original here, but Samuel delivers the words in a way that draws the listener into the worship in a special way – he appears almost not to be ‘performing’, but allowing us to share his own personal ‘quiet time’. In ‘Glorious’ the words are few but this simply adds to the effect – it is as though Samuel is lost for more words in his worship and we are drawn in as the song builds to a climax then drops back before it ends. Other standouts for me include the previously mentioned ‘The Father’, and ‘Presence and peace’. Negatives? The cover artwork isn’t very inspiring, and I found ‘Fall afresh’ too simple and underproduced when compared with the rest of the album. Overall however this is a debut to be proud of, and rates a definite 9/10. Dave Deeks
