New Release from Jasmine Brady

An original collection of impassioned anthems created for corporate worship experiences as well as intimate moments of reflection, Lover Of My Soul, the latest recording from acclaimed singer/songwriter and worship leader JASMINE BRADY, is slated for release May 10 from Regeneration Music Group.

Produced by Burton Gaar, Lover Of My Soul features 10 tracks hallmarked by direct, Spirit-filled lyrics and memorable, accessible melodies. Nine of the project’s selections were penned solely by Brady—a powerhouse vocalist who descends from Gospel music’s legendary Hemphill and Goodman families—while “Thank You Lord” was co-written by Brady and Jimmy Yeary (Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts).

“As I watched the Asbury Revival unfold last year, I noticed they were singing simple songs that everyone knew,” Brady shares. “They didn’t need complicated lyrics because it was about the worship and not about the song. DAN BREMNES : Into the Wild. (Curb/Word Entertainment)

Canadian native, Dan has been touring and recording as an independent artist for many years. Now, he’s released his, what I believe to be, third album for Curb/Word Entertainment. The recent single ‘Run Away With Me’ was written with Mike Donehey (Tenth Avenue North) and tells of stepping out in faith in the trust of God. It’s a nice, cool, number that is very radio friendly. There’s a similar feel to ‘Hold You Tight’ written and sung from God’s perspective. ‘Wouldn’t Change a Thing’ has a choppy beat to it, and I couldn’t help thinking that the chorus sounded like a well-known Michale Buble number. However, the emotional ‘Lover of My Soul’ reaches a new high. The theme has been written about many times – Jesus loves us and will do until the end of time. However, Dan makes it all sound new, with a terrific song that I really enjoyed. Other songs like ‘One Day At A Time’ tells of how he (Dan) is learning to trust God, one day at a time. The track listing flows nicely from start to finish, there’s a real freshness about the production. Dan is a new name to me, but one whom I shall look out for in the future.   8/10.

Opting against the usual childhood dreams of becoming an astronaut, putting out fires or pitching in the Major Leagues, singer/songwriter Dan was convinced that a future as a drummer would complete him. Or would make his life complete, anyway.

As it turns out, even from a young age, Dan’s instincts were right on target. Unlike most childhood hobbies that are cool today, forgotten tomorrow, drumming was something Dan pursued with fervour. Only 10 when began playing at his local church, Dan considered this opportunity a privilege since he was “probably pretty terrible.”

Forward many years, after continued touring, recording and writing songs as an independent artist, it’s no surprise that Dan’s passionate vocals and evocative, authentic songs of faith have attracted the attention of Nashville’s Capitol Christian label.
