“I’ve heard it said before that music is medicine, but I don’t see myself as a pharmacist. I don’t see myself as a healer. But what I do see myself as is a sharer,” says Heath, a storyteller whose songwriting grapples with faith and doubt simultaneously. “I can’t sit down and write a prescription for anybody, but I can share some of my own pain and my own perspective, and that connection, I think, is what makes people feel the healing.”

In his music, Heath is intentional to not shy away from the hard parts of his story. Instead, he hopes he brings a newfound honesty and wisdom to his songs that come from decades-worth of life experience.

“I feel like I’m building a repertoire that will be my legacy,” Heath says, adding, “Outside the realm of being a husband and dad, I have not yet found a better feeling than creating a song and then one day randomly hearing what that song that I wrote is doing in somebody’s life. Nothing compares to that. Nothing.”  https://brandonheathmusic.com/

Powerhouse Vocalists Mitchell Tenpenny and Danny Gokey Team Up For New Version Of ‘Bucket List’

#1 hitmaker Mitchell Tenpenny enlisted the help of Grammy-nominated performer Danny Gokey to record a new version of his smash hit ‘Bucket List.’ The two powerhouse vocalists, who connected through a mutual friend, spar it out on the refreshed track available now. The song, written by Mitchell, Chris DeStefano and Laura Veltz, was originally released one year ago on New Year’s Day 2021. The ‘Bucket List’ (lyrics here) original version is included in Mitchell’s current EP Midtown Diaries that was released in September. Get the Mitchell/Danny version HERE.

The singers carved out time from their busy schedules last month to shoot a music video for ‘Bucket List’ at the Melrose Church at Fiddlers Grove in Wilson County, Tenn. The film was shot with Director Tristan Cusick. Watch it now:

“‘Bucket List’ is about trying to live everyday like it’s your last. You never know how long you have on this earth, so you need to try and live it to the fullest,” shared Mitchell. “I’ve been a big fan of Danny’s for a long time, his voice is so incredible. And even though this song has been out for a while now, I felt he could bring the song to the Christian music community, and I knew no one else could do it better. He’s completely changed this song. I’m honoured and grateful he would do this with me.” “I love the sentiment of the song and love the lyrics,” said Danny. “I hope that people absorb the lyrics and start living life like never before.”

About Mitchell Tenpenny

Mitchell Tenpenny recently released a new EP Midtown Diaries. Mitchell produced the eight-song project with Jordan M Schmidt and co-wrote all the tracks including his current radio single “Truth About You.” Before the song went to country radio, he previewed it for his fans on TikTok, “You listen to the fans who listen to you,” Mitchell said about their instantaneous reaction. The song became the largest streaming debut of his career now with 50+ million total on-demand streams. Last month Mitchell released an early Christmas gift for his fans with Naughty List, his new 11-song Christmas album.

Since the release of his debut single, “Drunk Me,” Mitchell has set new standards for breakout success in country music. The 2X Platinum-certified, No. 1 hit that has amassed over 500 million on-demand streams was taken from his introductory 2018 album, Telling All My Secrets, and earned him the best first week showing for any major label country debut LP. Since that time, the “winning” singer (the New York Times) was nominated for New Male Artist of the Year at the ACM Awards and Breakthrough Video (“Drunk Me”) at the CMT Music Awards and saw his “Alcohol You Later” and “Anything She Says” singles certified gold.

Bethel Music Release ‘Peace Volume 2’ Album

Hot on the tails of multiple DOVE Award wins, GRAMMY nominated, internationally renowned artist collective BETHEL MUSIC has released their follow up to last year’s Dove nominated album Peace – Peace, Vol. II. Using bi-lateral audio, with frequencies scientifically proven to reduce stress and anxiety, the twelve songs on the album were recorded with the intention of creating a peaceful atmosphere for listeners to experience God’s presence. Much like the first Peace album, Peace, Vol. II features many familiar Bethel Music artists as well as special guests Phil Wickham, Lauren Daigle, We The Kingdom, and Pat Barrett.

“I’m so thankful for the ocean, the birds of the air, the mountain breeze, a gentle rain and how God brings healing to us through His wonderful creation,” shares Ed Cash, co-producer of the album. “Peace, Vol, II was a joy to work on – combining God’s healing sounds with calming versions of deep songs inspired by the Word of God has been one of my favorite projects to work on. The science behind using bilateral panning to help bring healing to all kinds of trauma is fascinating. We pray God will bring the healing you need as you listen!”

NFN Review Zone – KARIMA : Redeemer. (Dare Records).

Karima is a Dove Award-winning and Grammy-nominated recording artist. This is her debut single for Dare Records and it’s smashing song. In true gospel style, Karima’s vocals range from soft and gentle, to full velocity that the likes of Nicole C Mullen would be proud of. It’s a song that gives thanks and celebrates Jesus the Redeemer.  “I know that my redeemer lives; Let all creation testify; Let this life within me cry, that my redeemer lives.” The musical backing is first class, as it doesn’t get in the way of the vocal performance. A nice set of backing vocals fit well, too. A very classy number.   8/10.

Red Torch Music Releases New Album from Ron Rawles

“Ain’t Nobody Like Jesus,” a new project from Grammy and Dove Award-winning producer and musician RON RAWLS was released in June. The new album from the Red Torch Music label is available for streaming, downloads and purchase at all digital outlets.

“The heart behind this record was to have fun and express the joy in our hearts and our love for Jesus through creativity in music,” Rawls says about the new album. “We purposefully left a lot of space so things can breathe. There are definitely moments where the music is brimming, but hopefully you can hear and feel each voice and instrument as they speak.”

Rawls, who has worked as a touring musician during the last few years, currently is musical director for popular artist and “American Idol” alum Mandisa. Rawls earned his Grammy and Dove Award wins as producer on Mandisa’s 2013 album, “Overcomer,” which took home the Best Contemporary Christian Music Album Grammy in 2014. Rawls launched his solo artist career in 2019.

Debut Single from Dove Award Winner, Karima

KARIMA, the Dove Award-winning and Grammy-nominated recording artist, is making a splash as her debut single, “Redeemer,” climbs onto the Top 30 of Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart. To celebrate its reception on radio and online platforms, DARE Records has released a brand-new performance video of the track that debuts this week on YouTube. The stylish black-and-white clip shows off Karima’s engaging performance style.

The original audio-video of “Redeemer” had already received more than 600,000 views by the time the single was released on April 2, 2021. Renowned DJ D-Nice included the track multiple times on his popular Club Quarantine live DJ stream. The single is available on all download and streaming platforms.

“Redeemer” is Karima’s update of the international Christian mega-hit, originally written and performed by Nicole C. Mullen. Karima’s beautiful rendition is produced by Aaron Lindsey, a Grammy, Dove, and Stellar Award-winning artist, producer, composer, arranger, and musician.

Israel Houghton & New Breed Release Live Worship Experience

After months of experimenting with a remote quarantine setup, Dove and GRAMMY Award-winning singer/songwriter, producer and worship leader ISRAEL HOUGHTON is bringing the at-home intimacy of his Worship Wednesday sessions and the electricity of a live Israel and New Breed recording to listeners with  Feels Like Home: The Quarantine Worship Experience.

Recorded live, the 14-track Feels Like Home is available to stream and to purchase in digital, CD and vinyl formats.  The Feels Like Home project blossomed out of Houghton’s idea in early 2020 to remotely stream worship services, the impetus behind what would become his “Worship Wednesdays,” after seeing an opportunity to explore and reinvent group worship dynamics online throughout the pandemic.

The Israel and New Breed ensemble of vocalists and musicians streamed Feels Like Home live from Houghton’s sister-in-law’s New York home in November after each member agreed to quarantine and test for COVID-19 prior to the gathering. Deftly led by Houghton alongside his wife, Adrienne, the ensemble performed while seated “in the round,” creating a warm improvisatory looseness reminiscent of Gospel music’s roots as a communal religious celebration and experience. This includes new single “Hymn of Breakthrough,” a brightly burning, slow-building epiphany of the “sound of breakthrough” as it echoes throughout the ensemble.
