Michael Boggs Releases First Solo Christmas Single, “Come You Unfaithful”

Beloved Melody, Newly Crafted Lyrics Invite the

Unfaithful, Anxious, Prideful to the Joy of Christmas

Multiple Dove Award-winning singer, songwriter and worship leader Michael Boggs releases his first solo Christmas single, “Come You Unfaithful.” Available at digital and streaming outlets everywhere via https://linktr.ee/michaelboggs, the song shares a beloved melody along with newly crafted lyrics that serve as a beautiful reminder that regardless of whether or not we feel faithful, certain or joyful in life, Christ still came for us.

Produced by Scott Williamson (FFH, Lincoln Brewster, Point Of Grace) with a lush, live-recorded string section arranged and directed by Jason Webb (Lauren Daigle, Chris Tomlin, Josh Groban), “Come You Unfaithful” was written by Boggs with up-and-coming recording artist Josh Nichols.

“As a kid, I remember hearing and loving the Christmas carol ‘O Come All Ye Faithful,’ but at the same time thinking to myself, ‘Well, if only the faithful get to come to Jesus, I guess that leaves me out’,” shares Boggs. “It wasn’t for lack of effort then, and it isn’t now either, but most of my life has been filled with moments of trying, failing and then having the grace of Jesus pick me up, dust me off and tell me to try again.

“But then, one day it hit me, it’s NOT the message of Jesus that only the faithful get to come to Him,” continues Boggs. “The message of Jesus is that everyone gets to come to Him. That’s the whole point of Him being born. We needed a Savior, so He came to us.”

Taking that revelation into the newly crafted “Come You Unfaithful,” Boggs sings verses that invite the unfaithful, anxious and prideful as the chorus shares “Rejoice, He came for you” before leading to the hopeful bridge:

His strength is for the weak

His grace is for the sinner

Who hopes in lesser things

His arms are for the lowly

His blood is for the lost

His mercy’s ever-reaching

His love is for us all

“We all get invited. That’s the beauty of the Christmas story isn’t it? You don’t have to clean up before you show up. You can come to Jesus just as you are, because, well, your exactly who he came for,” encourages Boggs. “And when we come to Jesus, I think we’ll find ourselves in one, big, long line of joyful misfits who found the arrival of Jesus to be the most beautiful thing in the world. And that to me, is Good News. That to me, is Christmas.”

Dove Award Nominee Michael Boggs Releases His First Solo Single ‘Have Mercy’

Multiple Dove Award-winning singer, songwriter and worship leader Michael Boggs releases his first solo offering in seven years, ‘Have Mercy. Available at all major digital retailers and streaming outlets worldwide, the confessional ballad brims with honest self-reflection and sincere repentance. In the song, Boggs simultaneously exposes and owns his envy, privilege and selfishness, pleading with God to extend His grace amidst humanity’s missteps.

“There’s not a ton of songs in the worship world that are corporate confessions. We sing a lot about three categories: the glory of God, the gravity of sin and the grandeur of grace. That’s needed and healthy, but we don’t sing a lot of confession songs,” Boggs offers of the transparent track he co-wrote with Josh Nichols. “And so we just thought, ‘what would it sound like if we were to confess our own shortcomings and misgivings?’”

‘Have Mercy’ does just that, with listeners seemingly eavesdropping on a private prayer. While he realizes confession often has a negative connotation attached to it, Boggs concedes that confession is a bridge to the Father.

“It’s the one thing that restores communion with God, so why would we be afraid of something that brings God closer, not further away?” he insists. “Although it’s sometimes brutal to look in the mirror of your own confession, the Lord isn’t afraid of it. So hopefully this song invites people to come a little bit closer to the Lord through confession.”

Joseph Haberdank Celebrates #1 Hit Song

Southern Gospel/Gospel Roots artist JOSEPH HABERDANK recently celebrated his second career number 1 song on the Singing News Top 80 Chart. “Goliath” hit the number 1 position on the chart which will be featured in the May issue of Singing News Magazine. The powerful chart-topper also snagged the #1 spot on the Christian Music Weekly Chart for nine weeks in a row, as well as the Singing News POWER 50 Weekly Chart.

This is Habedank’s second #1 single from his 2019 Grammy and Dove Award-nominated recording Deeper Oceans. Penned by Michael Boggs, Jason Cox, and Joseph Habedank, “Shame On Me” hit the #1 spot on the Singing News Top 80 Chart in November 2019.

“Goliath,” written by Daniel Doss, Sue C. Smith, and Joseph Habedank, debuted on the Singing News Top 80 Chart in January of this year and quickly climbed to the top of the charts. This powerful song reminds listeners that there’s no weapon formed against them that is stronger than Jesus Christ.

Brand New Release from The Nelons

Grammy Award-nominated, Dove Award-winning Southern Gospel music family group THE NELONS have returned with Peace At Last, their first new studio recording in two years. Comprised of Kelly Nelon Clark, Jason Clark, Amber Nelon Kistler and Autumn Nelon Clark, the Gospel Music Hall of Famers‘ forthcoming 13-song collection also marks their new long-term partnership with Daywind Records.

Produced by Jason Clark and Dove Award-winner Wayne Haun, Peace At Last features nine songs co-penned by Clark and six by Haun, along with contributions from acclaimed writers Tony Wood, Joel Lindsey, Kenna West, Michael Boggs, and Reba Rambo and Dony McGuire, among others. The recording reflects the group’s influences across Gospel, country and Americana genres, while featuring the signature vocals and family harmonies that have been their trademark for more than three decades.

Highlights of Peace At Last include the new single and video, “Jordan,” an infectious barnburner featuring Autumn Nelon Clark on lead. Amber Nelon Kistler’s country-tinged vocals deliver the gentle ballads “Grace Ain’t Fair” and “If God Pulled Back The Curtain,” while Kelly Nelon Clark’s soothing alto is instantly recognizable on the anthemic title-cut, as well as the folksy “Patience of Job.” The cinematic “Still Free,” drawing from the biblical accounts of Daniel in the lion’s den, and Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego in the furnace, exhorts believers to walk in freedom and confidence. And bringing the collection full circle, “Pilgrim” reflects the group’s lauded southern gospel heritage.

Wildfire Release for Brooke & Boggs

BROOKE & BOGGS  released their debut EP Wildfire on 31st March. As a member of one of Christian music’s most loved bands, FFH, Michael Boggs knows what it means to play to capacity arenas, have hit songs on the radio and sell a lot of records. He’s toured extensively, written for and with many heavy hitters of the industry, and even won multiple GMA Dove and ASCAP Awards for his efforts.

While Boggs would be the first to express his gratefulness for the platform and accolades of his past efforts, he’s just not excited by the same things anymore. And his definition of success has changed dramatically.

“I think for me, success has been to take the next step, to take the next moment of grace God has given and step into it,” Boggs said. “And when I take that step, He’ll show another step. At the end of the day, the only thing the Lord has promised is that He’ll show the next step.” That next step in his lifelong journey of music and ministry has been to join forces with worship leader Brooke Voland to form a new duo, Brooke & Boggs, for the purpose of empowering and resourcing the Church with their original songs.
