Sunday Art Club Sings of ‘Holy Love’

UK artist SUNDAY ART CLUB released its second single ‘So close’, on 28th July, following the first single ‘Holy Love’.

“I’m writing music targeted at Gen Z to give them cool, indie pop music that reflects the light of Jesus rather than projecting the idea of drugs and sex being the best part of life”, explains Bec Robinson, the artist behind the moniker.

“My debut single was played on bbc introducing beds, herts and bucks. It’s been such an exciting project, and indeed a labour of love working with some INCREDIBLY talented friends. My friend Dylan Page produced and mixed, Reuben Harsant did an AMAZING job on the live drums and Jonny Bird was the masterer.”   https://open.spotify.com/album/5bcSE0rPoyM5RplaK3gAP3

NEW RELEASES FROM INTEGRITY MUSIC : w/e 15th October 2022

Nashville-based worship leader Sarah Kroger releases a new single with a soulful version of ‘What A Wonderful World‘. The song a statement as to what can be expected from Kroger’s newest creative exploration as she gears up to a new EP early in the new year. ‘What A Wonderful World’, despite not being a standard church song, is full of the artist’s love for Christ and his endless beauty expressed through her sweet and crisp vocals gliding a stunning stripped-back soundscape. Though not being labelled as a worship song, ‘What A Wonderful World’ is an articulation of the human experience in which people from all backgrounds, be they religious or not, can hopefully recognize themselves. The new single is a song of hope and wonder through which Kroger desires to encourage people on their personal journey. Her upcoming project is a “meeting of the streams” moment where every song speaks to where the singer-songwriter has been, but also to where she is and is going. Kroger’s new version of this classic reinforces her heart to serve the Global Church with songs to sing over people, while providing a musical balm that challenges, uplifts, encourages, and comforts all who hear.

After their debut album released in the summer, Local Sound introduce dreamy live versions of some favorites with their new EP ‘Live From The Fairlane’. Recorded on the rooftop of a hotel in downtown Nashville, the new project features some leaders from Local Sound’s house church movement ‘MyLocal’. Band leader Jared Runion explains how “there was something special about being on a rooftop with our church and singing songs like ‘Time And Time Again’ literally over our city.” The emotion of this special occasion is palpable on the project as Local Sound lead us with their disarming and inviting genuineness.

The second Vineyard Worship single recorded live at their youth event, Dreaming the Impossible, is set to release on 14th October. The song, titled ‘Running’, is interpreted by songwriters and worship leaders Beth McNeil and Jon Solway. ‘Running’ is a slower and meditative track adorned with strings and spacious voicings that explores the beauty of Jesus’ grace. Telling the story of the new song, Beth explains that its inspiration came from the story of the prodigal son in Luke 15 and the amazing picture of the Lord’s heart painted through it. ‘Running’ cleverly links the touching parable told by Jesus to his death a few chapters later, connecting us afresh with God’s life-changing grace. As the single ends, the recording captures a beautiful moment as the track fades and the crowd sings in simple devotion. Produced by Jonny Bird, Vineyard Worship’s new single follows a first live release from Dreaming the Impossible, this year’s national youth festival which gathered three thousand from all over the UK.

Hailing from Birmingham, UK, husband and wife worship leaders Nick and Becky Drake are pioneers of a new all-age worship movement called Worship For Everyone. They release a new single, ‘Hope’, speaking to young and old hearts alike about the trust we can dare to place in God, even in the midst of our cultural moment. Carrying God’s heart desire to unite His people in corporate worship, Worship For Everyone’s energy and joyful sound are undeniably contagious. ‘Hope’ is a declaration over the Church and a confident statement of faith for listeners and worshipers alike. The new single evolves on a pop soundtrack with elements of rock driven by a spacious and fun guitar line. As sought-after teachers of the practices and theology of all age worship, Worship For Everyone’s founders Nick and Becky are unveiling a new soundscape for the people of God; one that tells of the life-changing truth of the Gospel through songs that are as approachable as they are innovative. ‘Hope’ continues Worship For Everyone’s legacy, offering a fresh experience of worship for the family of God.

REVERE Portuguese Unscripted present a bilingual version of a song that’s been resonating with churches and houses of prayer all over the world, ‘Digno de Tudo/Worthy Of It All’. An amazing connection joined two House Of Prayer worship leaders when they met in Nashville, leading them to record the anthemic song of adoration together. Laura Hackett Park from iHOP Kansas City, USA and Emi Sousa from Florianópolis House of Prayer in Brazil are both familiar with the harp and bowl worship style – where scriptures come alive in songs – which is infused in this version of ‘Digno de Tudo/Worthy Of It All’.

Vineyard Worship announce new single ‘Look To Him (I See The Light)’. The song was recorded live at Dreaming the Impossible, a festival for young people from churches everywhere, which gathered three thousand from across the UK this summer. ‘Look To Him (I See The Light)’ is led by Jon Solway, who together with Beth McNeil, Harmony Smith and Rich Dicas, also penned the new song. Full of energy and inviting, Dreaming the Impossible’s new single starts as a prayerful picture of light breaking through the clouds, bringing warmth, life, and refreshing. “Many young people face huge challenges with mental health [and] we wanted to write a song that reminds us all of the truth that the light of God’s Kingdom breaks into our dark world,” Jon comments. ‘Look To Him (I See The Light)’ is, at its core, a song of hope which is clearly contagious as the live event’s crowd joins in with dynamic singing. Jon concludes with the outcome of what the new Dreaming the Impossible single seeks to have in the Church, “Together we can look to Him, and together we’ll see Him move.”‘Look To Him (I See The Light)’ was produced by Jonny Bird.

The nature of the worship experience can often be described as praise and prophetic, and the song ‘Way Maker’ has been resonating in churches all over the world for this reason. Originating in Lagos, Nigeria from worship leader Sinach, ‘Way Maker’ and now is being carried in a special and unscripted recording by Ana Paula Valadão, one of the pioneers of Brazil’s worship movement. ‘Caminho No Deserto/Way Maker’ brings Ana Paula Valadão and her son, upcoming singer-songwriter Isaque Valadão Bessa, together. REVERE Unscripted present this anthem in both Portuguese and English, carrying its international legacy.

We are thrilled to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Paul Wilbur‘s ‘Holy Fire’ album with a Deluxe edition! The album came out of Wilbur’s passion for the Presence and move  the Holy Spirit to burn like a fire in the Church, and from a hunger for His presence. The title track, ‘Holy Fire’, came to Wilbur in a dream. As he woke up and wrote the lyrics to the song, the rest of the album followed. ‘Holy Fire’ is still relevant for the church today, bringing songs of revival and passion for us to carry into the next twenty-five years and beyond.

German band YADA Worship are gearing up to their first ever live project, teasing it with first single ‘Gott der Wunder’ (God of Wonder). Recorded live at Lighthouse SH, a house of worship and prayer in Northern Germany, ‘Gott der Wunder’ traces the Lord’s greatness and beauty through history up to our cultural moment. The single resonates with YADA Worship‘s passion for new German worship songs that inspire and serve communities to experience deep encounters with God.

HTB WORSHIP RELEASE NEW LIVE SINGLE ‘WHAT A SAVIOUR’, RECORDED LIVE AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL

HTB Worship is releasing a new live single ‘What A Saviour’, the highly anticipated follow-up to 2018’s studio release ‘Love All Along’.  ‘What A Saviour’ is due for international release, today, 17th January 2020, in partnership with Bespoke Records, and was recorded live at the Royal Albert Hall.

“Thine O Lord is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty. For all that is in the heaven and in the earth is Thine. The wise and their works are in the hand of God. Glory be to God on high and on earth peace.” – Royal Albert Hall inscription

Holy Trinity Brompton (HTB) stands as one of the largest and most influential churches in the UK, as well as being one of the greatest contributors to resourcing the global church. The church is a prolific centre for planting churches (including to Gas Street Birmingham, and St Peters Brighton, home of Bright City) and is home of The Alpha Course (attended by over 25 Million people worldwide).  Alongside this outreach HTB has always proved to be a hotbed for creating music for the international church- huge anthems ‘Happy Day’ and ‘Spirit Break Out’ were penned by writers at HTB. Though birthed in the context of this local church, these 2 songs alone have broken through 35million streams between them, and are 2 of the most sung songs in the global church today.

‘What A Saviour’ is the latest step in this journey. Written by current HTB worship leader Anna Hamilton and Nick Herbert alongside previous HTB Worship Directors Sam Bailey and Ben Cantelon, ‘What A Saviour’ was recorded live during HTB’s 2019 Leadership Conference at the Royal Albert Hall.  The words on the artwork are taken directly from an inscription of foot-high terracotta letters that adorn the circumference of the legendary venue, which has also played host to recording seminal releases from many artists including The Killers and Adele.

Songwriter Anna Hamilton explains how the song came about spontaneously in a congregational setting- “The idea for ‘What A Saviour’ came from a response time in one of our services at HTB. As we were worshipping after the talk that night, there was a strong sense of the Majesty and Lordship of Jesus in the room. We saw people begin to kneel down together as we were singing, in recognition of His greatness and His glory and of our desperate need for Him as Saviour.”

‘What A Saviour’’ was produced by Dylan Page and mixed/mastered by Jonny Bird (Martin Smith, Bright City).

Anna Hamilton, writer of ‘What A Saviour’:

The song simply tells the story of Jesus’s victory over death and is a response to all He has done. Our hope is that this song unlocks a deeper cry of praise in our hearts, and points us to the One who is the answer to every longing felt by man – to Jesus Christ, the true King and Saviour of the world.

TOM READ LAUNCHES 3rd SINGLE ‘Falling’ FROM UPCOMING ‘REORIENT’ EP

After the success of 2018’s Lament EP , Tom Read
returns with a fresh batch of songs for a new EP.
‘Falling’ is the 3rd single, released 10th January 2020
in partnership with Bespoke Records.

“Love isn’t safe. It’s the craziest, riskiest, most vulnerable thing we could do.” – Tom Read

‘Falling’ becomes the 3rd single to add flesh to the bones of Tom’s upcoming Reorient EP (full release expected March 2020). After the explosive pop sensibilities of early singles ‘Borderless’ and ‘Search The World’ (both featuring on Spotify’s New Music Friday Christian editorial playlist), ‘Falling’ provides an introspective moment to pause- a steadily building moment on the project. The song is a beautiful bridge between the more ‘in yer face’ flavours of the first 2 singles, and the reflective response of next single ‘Thank You’ (slated for release Feb 2020).
The Reorient EP project is gathering momentum, with last single ‘Search The World’ also
appearing on UK Radio playlists (including UCB1’s main playlist).
Written with Sam Bailey (New Wine Worship, HTB Worship), the track has a gentle start, but carries a building momentum throughout. The high point is an energetic bridge- where soaring emotive synth melodies fly over Tom’s now tell-tale layered vocals.
The song itself is of course another nod to Tom’s honest approach to penning searching lyrics.
Tom explains a little more- “I n so many ways we try to control every aspect of our lives in order to feel like desired results can come from planned actions. Perhaps we feel a sense of security in believing that we are holding on to the steering wheel of life. Love is one of life’s things that tends to defy this need for control, and paradoxically, that sense of security that we strive for can come from the love that we experience after letting go of control. Sometimes we just need to let go and allow ourselves to fall. ”

Tom has been outputting fresh creativity for the church for over a decade- in more recent years including songs such as ‘Gravity’ (featured on Integrity’s Ultimate Worship series) and ‘You Restore My Soul’ (title track of the New Wine 2018 live album). Lament EP garnered widespread critical acclaim, emphasised by editorial placements on Spotify’s New Music Friday Christian, Worship Now and Top Christian playlists- the project totalling over 300k streams to date.
‘Falling’ was produced by Henry Marsden (Worship Central, Jake Isaac), mixed by Jonny Bird (Martin Smith, Bright City) and mastered by Drew Lavyne at All Digital Mastering.

Henry Marsden, Producer:
‘Falling’ is yet another showcase of Tom’s unparalleled ability to match haunting melodic ideas to raw and authentic lyric crafting. This combination makes his songwriting potently relatable to any listener, and it’s this uncanny ability that makes him such a firm favourite amongst critics and music fans in particular.

Released Today! Borderless by Tom Read

“Being borderless is not so much a political statement, as it is a human one. When we choose to see beyond the border, we choose to see each other.” – Tom Read

The Reorient EP builds on the back of Tom’s 2018 release- Lament EP. The next step in his creative journey- this is an exploration of rarely discussed themes, issues that Tom (as ever) has no problem in tackling head on.  ‘Borderless’ is no exception- setting the tone for this exciting batch of songs, released month-by-month. It’s an upbeat, alternative-pop fuelled call to action- one that couldn’t come at a more appropriate time given the current divisive political landscape.

It has always been the role of art to ask questions of the establishment, and ‘Borderless’ doesn’t shy away from this duty. “This song is a protest against tribalism, and those that would seek to divide us up” Tom reflects, “What if we choose not to accept those borders and the walls that have been put up between us. Whether you take these words literally or figuratively, I believe that our hope can be found in unity.

Tom has been outputting fresh creativity for the church for over a decade- in more recent years including songs such as ‘Gravity’ (featured on Integrity’s Ultimate Worship 2016) and ‘You Restore My Soul’ (title track of the New Wine 2018 live album). Lament EP garnered widespread critical acclaim, emphasised by editorial placements on Spotify’s New Music Friday Chritsian, Worship Now and Top Christian playlists.

‘Borderless’ was produced by Henry Marsden (Worship Central, Jake Isaac), mixed by Jonny Bird (Martin Smith, Bright City) and mastered by Drew Lavyne at All Digital Mastering.

Henry Marsden, Producer:

Tom has always pushed the boundaries of creativity with his songwriting. He’s not afraid of asking deep questions that delve to the core of what it means to be human- exploring things that we all wrestle with (that ultimately can also unite us). ‘Borderless’ is no exception- the whole Reorient EP asks tough questions, yet even goes further to suggest where we can look for solutions. It’s his rawness and authenticity that make him such a compelling songwriter- his willingness to grapple with difficult subjects. This is a fantastic body of work- and it’s been a rewarding process helping Tom bring the vision to life.”
