Cody Carnes Releases New Version of ‘Firm Foundation’

CODY CARNES has released the radio version of the title track to his forthcoming live album, Firm Foundation, which will release on August 25th. This song is going for adds now at radio and has also moved up 15 spots to the Top 20 on the most recent CCLI chart.

Although a version of the LP’s title cut has been circulating for more than a year, Carnes says he’s known for quite some time that “Firm Foundation (He Won’t)” was always meant to provide this collection’s namesake.

“This is one of my favorite songs I’ve ever been a part of writing, and I really believe in it,” Cody Carnes shares. “I’ve seen it spark a room while I’m leading like no other song I’ve been a part of.”

Carnes adds about the songs on this upcoming album, “These songs celebrate the God who never ever fails. They were written out of encounters with Jesus and they carry His certain hope in uncertain times. When everything around me is shaken, I’ve never been more glad that I put my faith in Jesus.”   https://www.codycarnes.com/

NFN Review Zone – SELAH : Firm Foundation – Live. (Integrity Music)

Selah present their live EP ‘Firm Foundation’ in which they revisit some of the most loved songs from their album of the same title released in 2019. Recorded in Nashville, this EP gets off to a really strong start with the excellent “Jesus is King.” Great words of praise, and a very good pop song. “I Belong to Jesus” is a little slower in tempo, but the quality is still high, as the song professes our faith. Vocally, there’s nothing wrong with the rendition of “10,000 Reasons” but it did sound a little tepid, overall. Selah are seasoned musicians who have been active for the past 22 years and are known for embracing an eclectic array of genres in their worship – from gospel and folk to bluegrass and pop. This 5 track offering also includes the powerful “Yet Not I, But Through Christ in Me,” and the big production number, that is the title track. Makes you wonder just how good the original album was?   8/10.

LIFE Worship is a fresh sound of modern worship rising up from the heart of LIFE Church in Bradford, England, one of the most vibrant, thriving churches within the UK. ‘This Is Love’ is a summer soundtrack to celebrate the love of God and the joy we have in Him no matter what. Nothing can come between us or take away the Life and Grace we have in Jesus – so turn up the sound of hope and joy, let your soul remember the goodness only found in the love of God!

Sandra McCracken releases new anthem of peace and unity ‘I Am One’ featuring Citizens. Written with Zach Bolen and Stu G, this song was born out of a conversation of what it means to have union with Christ and membership with one another. Jesus prayed for us in John 17 “Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one.” While our circumstances may be shaken up through the pandemic and pronounced political and social divisions, this song is a call to unity, with God and one another. The humble reality that we are more alike than we are different can be the beginning of redemptive conversations.

Vineyard Worship release new intimate worship single ‘The Hidden Place’. Written on Zoom as the world was simultaneously pushed into lockdown, songwriters Harmony Smith, Mitch Wong and Krissy Nordhoff felt compelled to express that even in the unknown, our hidden place with the Lord never changes. It explores vulnerability in worshipful expression; pondering on who we truly are when all is stripped back, in the place where God is speaking. Produced by the Emmy Award-winning producer Bobby Hartry (Jeremy Riddle, Brenton Brown), ‘The Hidden Place’ is a spacious track inviting listeners to embrace the promise of intimacy in the midst of difficulty. The song is interpreted by renowned Vineyard worship leader and songwriter Samuel Lane, whose powerful vocals lift the beautiful lyrical landscape to another level of meaning and personal experience. ‘The Hidden Place’ is a Spirit-breathed musical invitation to be at home with the Lord regardless of our circumstances.

Selah Return With Firm Foundation Album

Award-winning trio SELAH have release their new album, Firm Foundation,  with Integrity Music. This will mark the first release with the new label partnership. The debut song, “Jesus Is King,” from the forthcoming album along with the pre-order is available today.

“We live in a day and age where everyone is being encouraged to find and live their own truth,” explains Selah’s Todd Smith about the new album’s theme. “Historically that only leads to chaos. Instead of the Church influencing culture, we are letting culture lead us. We have more access to the Word of God than any generation before us, and yet we are one of the most biblically illiterate generations. Selah is hoping and praying for a generation whose foundation is Jesus and the writings of His Apostles, and that God uses these songs to remind people to turn to Him. He is our hope, our joy, and our foundation. Hopefully, these songs speak truth about these things in some small way.”

The new album features 11 tracks, and includes the first official song written by all three members of the trio titled, “Let The Saints Sing.”
