‘The Battle is Not Yours’ is Sandra’s second single release of the year. And is a more uptempo number than her last. She says; “This song is a reminder that our human strength is not enough to get us through the trials, obstacles and challenges of life but rather, our decision and determination to allow God to fight our battles, get us desired results. It is a partnership with God and our part, is to live a life that is pleasing to God. We achieve this by allowing His word to impact our daily lives, so we can live successfully and victoriously. The song encourages us to use “Praise” as a weapon, while we focus on His ability to fight our battles and is drawn from the scriptures in 2 Chronicles 20:15,17.” Bright keyboard sounds start things off, with a guitar rhythm, too. As always, Sandra’s voice is crystal clear. Mid-song, there’s a guitar solo before the singer returns with those signature vocals, and simple chorus; “Give Him Glory; Give Him praise; Every mountain be levelled; Every valley be raised; Lion of Judah.” At just over three minutes long, the message is snappy and not complicated. And, in conclusion, the song is perfect for radio play. 7/10.
