NFN Music Review – TRUESONG : Tell Someone.   (New Day Records)

TrueSong are The Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum’s  resident Gospel group. The group brings great Gospel music to their large daily audiences, infused with worship, southern, and country sounds. TrueSong is nominated as “Favourite New Artist” for the 2023 Singing News Fan Awards. The first song is called ‘Army of Love’ were the album’s title comes from. “Rise up, rise up, everybody go and tell someone; rise up, rise up, tell them what love has done.” It’s a strong start to the album, and I was hopeful that similar, quality songs would follow. ‘I Got Saved’ is a well sung ballad, with the group showing off some nice harmonies. Then, we move into country music territory with ‘Jesus 1, Death 0,’ celebrating Jesus’ resurrection. It’s a medium paced number in a style akin to, say, Rascal Flatts. ‘Grace Talkin’ tells of all your sins being forgotten and all your stains washed away by mercy’s blood. It’s another classy song, and the early signs are of this being a really good album. You can tell how this group and grown in popularity, by the great vocals and the overall production behind them. From the foot tapping ‘Old Church Choir’ to the ballad that is ‘Waiting for Me,’ the quality of the songs continue to the end of the track listing. TrueSong are a class act! 8/10.
